Five Nights At Freddy’s Trailer Introduces All 4 Animatronics & Teases Grisly Kills

A new Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer introduces all four animatronic mascots and teases some grisly kills in the terrifying video game adaptation.

A new Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer introduces all four animatronic mascots and teases some grisly kills. Based on the beloved video game franchise created by Scott Cawthon, who co-wrote the script, the upcoming horror film follows a nighttime security guard at an abandoned family entertainment center, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where four animatronic mascots come alive and murder anyone who is there after midnight. The Five Nights at Freddy’s cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard.

Universal unveiled the second official trailer for the horror movie ahead of Five Nights at Freddy’s release date this October. Watch the trailer below:

The trailer introduces Hutcherson as a troubled security guard named Mike Schmidt who starts a nighttime security gig at the abandoned family entertainment center, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. There, he is introduced to the four main animatronic mascots – Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy. A police officer played by Elizabeth Lail also relays some lore involving a group of kids who went missing during the 1980s, which is why Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was shut down.

Every Animatronic In The Five Nights at Freddy’s Trailer Explained

The new Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer provides a proper introduction to each of the four main animatronic mascots in the movie, which were brought to life by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Freddy, a brown bear who wears a top hat, is the titular mascot and effectively their leader. Foxy, also known as the Pirate Fox, murders their victims with a pirate hook and wears an eye patch over their right eye.

Bonnie is a blue rabbit and the lead guitarist of their band. Chica is a female chicken who wears a large bib that reads “Let’s Eat!!!” These are the four main mascots, though the new Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer showcases two other animatronics. Cupcake is a miniature animatronic typically held in Chica’s left hand, and in the trailer, Cupcake can be seen mauling a trespasser. The trailer also shows a brief look at Springtrap, also known as Spring Bonnie.

Though the new Five Nights at Freddy‘s trailer teases some grisly kills, the video game adaptation is not expected to be too gory. The movie is only rated PG-13, not R, for “strong violent content, bloody images and language.” The movie’s MPAA rating shouldn’t be too discouraging though, as Blumhouse recently had success with another PG-13-rated horror movie, M3GAN.
