The trailer for The Fall Guy reveals a closer look at the new action-thriller from director David Leitch, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.
The trailer for The Fall Guy offers a closer look at the new action-thriller. The movie, which is based on the Lee Majors show of the same name that ran from 1981 through 1986, follows an aging stuntman who becomes embroiled in a mystery when the star he’s doubling mysteriously disappears. Helmed by Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train director David Leitch, The Fall Guy boasts a cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Stephanie Hsu, Winston Duke, Hannah Waddingham, and Teresa Palmer.
The trailer has been unveiled by Universalnearly four full months before the Fall Guy release date in 2024. See it below:
It opens on a dangerous car stunt that Gosling’s stuntman character Colt performs. Jody (Emily Blunt), his ex and the movie’s director, is initially impressed before realizing who the stunt performer is. This kicks off a possible enemies-to-lovers storyline before the action plot kicks in and Colt is drawn into an undercover mission to rescue the missing star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). A new poster for The Fall Guy was also released and can be seen below:
What The Fall Guy Trailer Reveals About The New Ryan Gosling Action Movie
“I’m not the hero, I’m just the double,” insists Colt at the beginning of his epic journey. This showcases the fact that he’s the latest reluctant hero Gosling has brought to the screen. His new character seems caught somewhere between the gritty gravitas of his superspy character Six in Netflix’s The Gray Manand the bumbling charm of his down-on-his-luck detective Holland March in the 2016 movie The Nice Guys.
Because of his character’s fallibility, the movie is able to showcase the comic tone that Leitch has presented in many of his previous action films. However, while Colt is in over his head, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t pull off some impressive stunts both on and off camera. In between his clumsy detective work, he does some impressive – in his own words – “Jason Bourne s–t.”
Leitch, who is himself a former stunt performer, is no stranger to high-octane action. While his franchise movies, such as Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, tend to perform better at the box office than his non-franchise movies (Atomic Blonde and Bullet Train), he may just reverse that trend. The Fall Guy cast is led by a pair of well-matched A-listers. With the movie’s IP connection and those stars, Leitch could have a legitimate hit on his hands if the movie lives up to the trailer’s promise of action blockbuster thrills.
The new trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the sequel to 2021’s Afterlife, reveals a first look at the franchise’s upcoming entry.
The first Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 trailer has finally dropped, revealing the official title of the next ghost-hunting adventure. The legacy sequel comes two years after Ghostbusters: Afterlife established Spengler’s family and close friends as the next generation of ghost hunters. In the upcoming installment, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Logan Kim, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd will return in their respective roles alongside original Ghostbusters cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson.
Now, Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Check it out below:
The new trailer teases a very different kind of Ghostbusters adventure this time around, with a frigid “Death Chill” phenomenon leaving New York City on its knees. Read the official synopsis for the sequel below:
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
What The Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Trailer Reveals About The Movie
While Ghostbusters: Afterlife took place in the sleepy town of Summerville, Oklahoma, New York City is back in the sequel as the central setting for the action, continuing a trend set by the two original movies in the 1980s. The setting isn’t the only thing returning from the original movie, with the iconic Ghostbusters firehouse and the Ecto-1 vehicle also featured in the new trailer.
The trailer also teases that original Ghostbusters characters like Dr. Peter Venkman (Murray), Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Winston Zeddmore (Ernie Hudson) will play a more prominent role this time around after featuring relatively sparingly in the 2021 soft reboot. In addition to all the returning Spengler family characters and Rudd’s Gary Grooberson, the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire cast includes some notable newcomers, including Patton Oswalt and Kumail Nanjiani, although it’s not yet clear how they will factor into the story.
Right at the very end of the new trailer, it’s also revealed that there is some kind of sinister figure behind the Death Chill that afflicts the city, with a very tall, ghostly specter shown floating through the icicles. Previous Ghostbusters movies have all had a big bad, of sorts, with the previous film featuring the return of Gozer, the villain from the 1984 original. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2, however, it looks like the team of ghost hunters will be facing off against an antagonist the likes of which they’ve never faced before.
The trailer for The Family Plan offers a great look at Mark Wahlberg’s action-comedy about a suburban father who doubles as an assassin.
The newly released The Family Plan trailer reveals an early look at Mark Wahlberg’s latest movie. Wahlberg’s association with Apple TV+ was revealed last year, and the movie is set to be a PG-13 holiday season premiere. Alongside Wahlberg, it will star Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds. The action-comedy movie is set to release on Apple TV+ on December 15.
Now, Apple TV premieres The Family Plan trailer, revealing many elements of the movie’s plot.
While Apple TV+ sci-fi shows and movies have been gaining a lot of traction lately, The Family Plan goes in a different direction. The trailer begins with a calm and comforting suburban life as Dan (Wahlberg) settles in with his family. When he is attacked in a grocery store, however, he immediately takes to the streets and returns to life as a reluctant but effective assassin. The director, Simon Cellan Jones, considers it “the most fun I have ever had making a movie.” Check out his full quote below:
Everything We Know About The Family Plan
Many of Wahlberg’s best movies are action movies, but The Family Plan also allows him to bring an emotional and loving element to an otherwise typical, efficient assassin. Many other action stars, including John Wick and Bryan Mills, are introduced when their families are attacked directly, but Dan’s adventure will be different. His family will be beside him throughout his adventure.
The trailer revealed many elements of the movie, including the exact nature of Dan’s journey to escape his reemerging past. His children are given ample time to show their personalities, and they both have the opportunity to react to their father’s history and their disgust at their parents’ loving relationships. Their inclusion reveals much about the movie’s family-directed sense of humor.
While the movie is set to be family-friendly, the trailer reveals that the focus is unsurprisingly on Dan and his wife. Dan’s struggle to keep his past secret from his family, before eventually being forced to reveal his true history, could very well prove to be a compelling element. Given the draw of its star, if it connects with audiences, The Family Plancould be a big hit for Apple TV+ over the holiday season.
The newest trailer for Godzilla Minus One has been released, showcasing more of the iconic monster’s latest rampage through postwar Japan.
The newest trailer for Toho’s Godzilla Minus Onehas been released. Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the upcoming movie will bring the titular monster back to Japan, sometime after World War II. It is the first Toho Godzilla movie to be released since 2018, and it will make its United States debut in December.
Now, Toho’s official Godzilla account has released the newest trailer for Godzilla Minus One. Beginning with a mysterious shipwreck, the trailer first introduces the kaiju beast as a gargantuan, water-traveling beast.
Godzilla Minus One goes on to establish this figure as “an unknown organism,” as citizens try to reckon with what could possibly be destroying their city to this extent. The final moments show Godzilla’s scales growing blue, seemingly charging an attack, but it doesn’t look like the creature’s famous atomic breath.
Godzilla Minus One Will Deliver On Toho’s Bold Promises
This look at Godzilla Minus One shows Japan in an utter state of disarray as a result of the monster’s actions. Within seconds, Godzilla bursts through skyscrapers, creating masses of debris in its wake. In other shots, he even stalks seafaring citizens as his spiny back protrudes from the water.
In the publicity campaign for Godzilla Minus One, Toho has regularly cited how the film will diverge from recent Hollywood depictions of the Monsterverse. Since the studio began making Godzilla movies in 1954, it has prided themselves on making them distinct from the more sanitized versions that Hollywood produces. In advance of Godzilla Minus One, Toho has regularly stated that the monster would go back to its malicious, obliterating ways in this adaptation.
Based on first-look images and now the trailer, it seems that the movie will deliver on this promise. In previous images and posters for Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla levels cities with his feet and bears his sharp teeth domineeringly. Similarly, there is nothing sympathetic about the kaiju monster in the Godzilla Minus One trailer. Rather, it sees the monster divaricating the city beyond repair, suggesting that Godzilla Minus Onewill deliver on its bold promises.
