The first trailer for Michael Mann’s Ferrari has been released, teasing a unique turn from star Adam Driver. Best known as the director of movies like Heat and Collateral, Mann next tackles the life and career of Enzo Ferrari, a significant figure in the world of racing and automobile manufacturing. The film also stars Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadson, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey.
Now, Neon has released the first trailer for Ferrari ahead of its release date later this year. Check it out below:
The trailer teases the film’s stacked cast and Driver’s powerful lead performance, but also makes clear that Mann’s new film won’t be short on racing action. While not revealing the movie’s release date, the trailer does confirm that the movie will release around Christmas.

Mann is known for being a very exacting director, digging incredibly deep into his characters and depicting moments of action with ruthless precision. Ferrari seems to be no exception, with the film boasting intense moments of emotion and thrilling car-racing action set pieces, all in the interest of fleshing out the life of the titular Italian sports car entrepreneur. The film marks Mann’s first feature film since 2015’s Blackhat starring Chris Hemsworth, which earned mostly negative reviews from critics.
The trailer also makes clear that Ferrari will be taking full advantage of its period setting. Much of the story is set to take place in the late 1950s, with production design and costuming fully embodying the era. In addition to the time period, the film will also be showing off some beautiful Italian scenery, including cityscapes and vast hilly terrain, both of which will play host to various racing sequences.
The impressive Ferrari cast is also on full display in the new trailer. Cruz plays Enzo’s wife, Laura, while Woodley will be playing a woman named Lina Lardi, who eventually becomes his mistress. Demspey will be playing Enzo’s son, Piero, while O’Connell will be playing Ferrari driver Peter Collins. Ferrari‘s specific release date has yet to be announced, but, at the very least, audiences can rest assured that the film will be hitting theaters before the year is out.
